Welcome to the Tamarama to Clovelly Beach Open Water Classic. You are invited to join us on the 13th of April 2009 for one of the most unique swims on the calendar.
This swim is brought to you through the partnership of Tamarama and Clovelly surf clubs who will providing water safety and opening up their clubs on the day. Thanks to all those who participated, the results are now up. Also a sincere apology to those who missed the late registration cut off. I know a lot of times swims advertise a cut off for late registrations, in terms of numbers or time, but don't enforce it. Being our first event and given the geography, we were very aware of the risks of overcrowding. Having proven we can do it, next year you can expect larger waves and more late entry slots. Also, if you have photos of the event you'd like to appear in the gallery section of this web site, email them through to racedirector@t2cswim.com. Feedback is best done on the oceanswims.com blog regarding the event, however you can also drop an email to the race director (Chris) at the above address if you prefer. This will ensure that you don't end up swimming alone or end up being crushed under the weight of your fellow competitors. This will also limit the number of people entering the Clovelly heads at a given time.On top of the safety concerns, in order for you to get an accurate time, it is very important that you leave the beach with people with the same coloured cap and who have the same first digit in the number on their arm. Swim With Your FriendsAll members of a team will start in the same wave. We have team categories for anywhere between 2 and 6 swimmers. If you want to swim head to head against your friends, or have a friendly face at the start line, this is a great way to do so. |
