How will we get between Clovelly and Tamarama beaches?

Clovelly Beach has fantastic parking facilities and will be hosting the post-race festivities, so competitors are encouraged to park at Clovelly and make their way to Tamarama.

We have organised buses before the event to transport you from the parking at Clovelly to the race start and registration desk at Tamarama.

I don't have a previous swim time, or I am concerned I will end up seeded in the wrong wave, can I submit my swimming history?

Yes! But first you should check your swimming history at the excellent Ocean Swim Series web site. This is the same data we use to work out your wave, if you have at least one result here, then you don't need to contact us unless you think it is wrong.

We have 5 years of race data to fall back on and computer is usually quite good at getting it right, but if you are concerned that will end up in the wrong wave, then contact the race director with your 800 meter time, or some other estimate of your ability, and he will do his best to fit you in. His email is racedirector@t2cswim.com.

Why Easter Monday?

There are a few of reasons for this decision:
  1. Because of the nature of the course, we would ideally have a high tide at around 12:00 noon on race day, this is to ensure that the heads at Clovelly are at their most navigable and that Tamarama is at its most accessible. This limits our options for which days the event can be run, next year it will most likely be on another day in April..

  2. We didn't want to clash with another swim.

What if conditions are large or dangerous?

We have obtained permission from the various councils to start the event at Bronte, Tamarama, Coogee Beach, or Gordons Bay and finish the event at either Clovelly Beach or Gordons Bay. Between these four venues we are confident that we will be able to hold the race in some capacity in almost any conditions.

Will there be food and beverages?

Yes. Both beaches boast cafes and Clovelly will be hosting a post race BBQ.

Australian Gourmet Meats are giving each swimmer a free sausage sandwich and the Nutrient Water Rapid Response Team will be handing out bottles of their their delicious, nutrient-enhanced fruit drinks at the finish line.

Can I help advertise the event?

You sure can! You can download any of our advertising documents from here.

Can I wear a wetsuit

Yes you can, but your time for the swim will not be counted. The exception to this rule is if the water temperature drops below 19 degrees on the day of the race. An SMS advising preregistered swimmers to bring wetsuits will be sent out the night before the race if this is the case.
